Report Queries Indigo DRS Help

The Report Data Source XML can be queried using XQuery / XPath. Queries are associated with Report Fields and the output of a Query will be substituted in place of the Report Field Name.

To Add or Edit a Report Query click on the Report Treeview and select the Queries node.

XQuery is a query and functional programming language that is designed to query and transform collections of structured and unstructured data, usually in the form of XML (Extensible Markup Language).

XQuery provides the means to extract and manipulate data from a data source. XQuery contains a superset of XPath expression syntax to address specific parts of an XML document.

Click OK to Add or Edit the XQuery expression.

Content Types

The Report XQuery Content Type can be either a Literal or a File. If the Content Type is a File the Content for the Report XQuery is read from the specified URI.

Query Fields

Report Queries can also contain Fields which can be used to substitute Content in the Report Query. XQuery and / or XSLT is used in Report Fields and provides the means to extract and manipulate data from a report data source.

XML namespaces are used for providing uniquely named elements and attributes. If the Data Source contains Namespaces they be applied to the XQuery Processor.
